Community update from your neighbourhood team |

Dear Resident
Since our last update, we've continued working to tackle local concerns, support communities, and make our neighbourhoods safer. Here's a snapshot of some of that work.
Vehicle seized PC Barry and PC Payne stopped a vehicle and, following checks, found the driver was only in possession of a provisional driving licence. As the driver was unaccompanied, with only a child in the rear of the vehicle, they were not complying with the conditions of their licence. Due to this, the vehicle's insurance was deemed invalid, resulting in the vehicle being seized. The driver was also issued with a traffic offence report and will now be dealt with through the court process. A reminder that provisional licence holders must be accompanied by a qualified driver who meets the legal requirements. Please make sure you are driving legally and safely before setting off.
Closure order secured A Kettering flat where drug-related activity made life a misery for others in the community has been made subject to a three-month closure order. The court order was sought following persistent reports of drug-related activity and associated anti-social and criminal behaviour at the property in the town’s Jobs Court, causing significant distress to other residents. This led to numerous reports to Northamptonshire Police about drug dealing and drug use in the building's communal areas, criminal damage and anti-social behaviour. Residents regularly experienced shouting, banging, and people pressing the intercoms of other flats at all hours to gain access to the building. Following the concerns raised, Kettering Neighbourhood Policing Team worked closely with the Force’s Anti-Social Behaviour Civil Orders Team and PA Housing to gather evidence and pursue enforcement action. As a result, an application was made under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and at Wellingborough Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 6, a three-month closure order was granted.
Community safety talks We visited the residents at Sunley Court Residential Home in Kettering to join in with their Oktoberfest celebrations after chatting about any concerns they have in their local communities. A huge thank you to all the residents and staff for making us feel so welcome. It was lovely to spend time with everyone, hear about what's important to them, and share a few laughs along the way.
E-scooters seized Two more illegal e-scooters have been removed from the streets of Desborough. We will continue to take proactive action against offences that impact community safety and cause anti-social behaviour.
